Miley Cyrus was born in Nashville to Leticia “Tish” and country singer Billy Ray Cyrus. She has five siblings including two older half brothers named Christopher Cody and Trace and one older half sister named Brandi. She also has one younger brother named Braison Chance and a younger sister named Noah Lindsey. Miley, who was originally named Destiny Hope by her parents, who believed that she would accomplish great things, got her nickname because she was always smiling as a youngster. Miley attended the Heritage Middle School where she was a cheerleader, and is currently going to the Options For Youth School. She started getting interested in acting at the age of nine and even though she did not get any formal training in singing, she has become a popular singer besides being a fabulous actress. Though she is only sixteen years old, Miley has had her share of controversies including a pregnancy hoax, a seat belt controversy, and a controversy which was related to a photo shoot for the magazine Vanity Fair.
Miley’s first television appearance was as a guest star on her father’s show Doc where she played the role of Kylie. She later appeared in shows like, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Hannah Montana: Live in London, High School Musical 2, The Emperor’s New School and The Replacements besides playing the title role in Disney’s Hannah Montana. Although Miley auditioned for the role of Lilly, in the show, the creators felt that she would best suit the character of Miley Stewart, and as they say, the rest is history. In addition she has also acted in the movies Big Fish, Bolt and Hannah Montana: The Movie. Miley has also performed in the soundtracks of Bridge to Terabithia, The Game Plan , The Oprah Winfrey Show, The X Factor, and Bolt etc., besides appearing as herself on numerous television shows including Entertainment Tonight, CMT Insider, Dancing With The Stars, Good Morning America and Today etc. As a singer she has released 10 singles, 2 studio albums, 2 compilation albums, 1 live album and 3 music videos. She has also been nominated for 4 different awards including a Golden Globe besides winning six other awards.
Role In Hannah Montana
In Hannah Montana, she plays the role of Miley Stewart, an ordinary teenage girl who turns into the pop sensation Hannah Montana, at night. As she goes through the normal issues of teenage life, she is also desperately trying to protect the secret of her dual life which is only known to her father, brother and two best friends.
